What’s your holiday shopping style?

Every year, I say I'm going to have my house all decorated and presents all bought and wrapped by mid-December so that I can relax and enjoy baking all the things and watching Christmas movies while snuggled up under a blanket in front of a nice, roaring fire.

And every year, it's mid-December before I know it, I've got just about 10 days to do ALL the things, and I'm caught in a crazy rush fueled by caffeine, sugar, and adrenaline that results in the inevitable post-holiday zombie period.

That's why I've developed a method of pouring over the Loop Member list full of Destinations and Maker Members and Businesses to work out a holiday game plan for getting it all done in as timely a manner as possible.

How about you?

Are you like me, or are you pretty much done and maybe just picking up a few odds and ends here and there, even taking the time to wander through stores just to see what there is to see? Or are you something somewhere in-between, partly done but still have a decent To Do to sort through as you go about your days?

Regardless of your style, as a follower of The Loop, I trust that you know this but I'm going to say it anyway because it bears repeating on an endless Loop...

Shop small. Support local. Every chance you get, every day. Especially for the holidays.

Doing so is a gift to your community, and we thank you for it.

Welcome, Camella Living!

Life has a way of not stopping for the holidays, as much as we often wish it could, and there's a good chance that you or someone you know might be looking for help and a new home for a loved one living with dementia.

Camella Living is a brand new senior living community in Copley and April Daniska, Cofounder and CEO, is passionate about providing the best possible care. April has been a nurse in the Akron area for almost 20 years and she and her husband, a firefighter, took on the task after a loved one of their own was diagnosed with dementia.

If you'd like to learn more about Camella, now is the perfect time! Their home is still “open” for tours until they move in their first residents, at which time they'll be open by appointment only.

They also happen to be hiring if you happen to be looking... you can find more information on The Loop's Employment page or by contacting info@camellaliving.com.

Welcome to Copley, Camella Living, and welcome to The Loop!
