There Are Ways Every Week…

National Volunteer Week may be in April, but I've seen some posts and talked to some people here lately that have inspired me to talk up the cause today.

After all, as many of you likely already know, there's a need for volunteers somewhere every week of the year!

This week, for instance, there's a need for volunteers to help plant over 500 native plants in a newly constructed raingarden. According to a recent Facebook post from Summit Soil and Water Conservation District that was shared by Copley Township, "This raingarden will reduce stormwater runoff... from Copley Road. By capturing and reducing rainwater runoff, we can help prevent streambank erosion in Pigeon Creek."

Please call town hall at 330-666-1853 if you would like to volunteer on Thursday between 3:00 and 5:00. And note that there will only be so many tools to go around so bring 'em if you got 'em!

Then next week, you can join the handful of volunteers who work a full year to plan our annual Copley Heritage Days events! I've been a part of that committee since 2017, myself, and it is truly amazing the amount of coordination that needs to happen. The more shoulders there are to carry the weight, though, the lighter the load.

You can reach out to me if you like but you can also find the meeting info below and just show up - all are welcome!

The week after that brings us to another annual township favorite, the Copley Police Department's Halloween in the Park. If you've got little ones and have never been, I highly recommend - it's total kid heaven! Of course, even teens can get in on the fun and fulfill some of their volunteer hour requirements while they're at it...

There's a button below for those of you with teens (or neonates!) who might be interested. There's also a button for those of you looking for info on how your business or organization can have a table on the Trick-or-Treat Trail.

Just be ready to step up your costume and table-decorating games because this year, there's prizes and everything!
