Look for the Loop Tent!
After a year's worth of planning, Copley Heritage Days are finally happening THIS WEEKEND and, oh, my goodness... I can't wait for you all to see what the committee has up its sleeves!
Here's a couple handfuls of key highlights:
- Not one, but TWO movie nights with The Mighty Ducks on Friday and Black Panther on Saturday.
- NEW Copley Heritage 5K presented by Absolute Fitness (it's not too late to register!) and benefitting Copley Outreach.
- The Annual Heritage Day Bake-Off (also not too late to register!).
- Copley Fire & Rescue Association's Annual Pancake Breakfast.
- Free Kid's Zone with super fun demos, face painting, and bounce houses.
- Free 12 - Adult Zone with a mechanical bull, bungee trampoline, and more, including a dunk tank fundraiser supporting CHS Girls Soccer, Boys Cross Country, and Boys Track.
- Featured Exhibit with THREE Loop Member farms, TRAIL TALK with Loudan Klein (Director of Department of Community & Economic Development), and more.
- Brighten Brewing Beer Tent benefitting the Copley Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund.
- NEW Spirits of Copley beer and wine tasting event (also benefitting the Copley Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund) with a FREE concert from the Ben Gage Band and the presentation of the NEW Paul Janos Community Impact Award to Helen Humphrys.
- Plus over 50 vendors!
You can check out the full schedule of events (with important parking info!) by clicking here, but there's one more highlight you won't want to miss...
Visit the Loop Tent to get to know some of our members plus participate in our THIRD Community Art Project! This year, we're playing with Sharpie markers and rubbing alcohol on white ceramic tiles. The art tiles created will cover a second table frame (like the one used last year) made by Akron artist John Communale.
And I'll be there myself, of course, ready to answer questions, help you with the art project, or maybe sell you some Loop swag!
Speaking of which... Many thanks to our Looper friend Marcy for sending this selfie with the free tee she got just for being a Looper Community Subscriber - you're looking lovely as your flower there, friend!
"Hello" to Ohio Women’s Health PT
Before we go, allow me to introduce you to Susan Faceimre, owner of Ohio Women’s Health Physical Therapy and our newest member in The Loop.
Susan is a women’s health physical therapist with a passion for treating women during their childbearing years, especially during pregnancy and postpartum. I've done some clicking around so I could get to know her better in order to help you know her better and I gotta say... if you're a woman of childbearing years, you might want to click around yourself!
There's a blog on the Ohio Women's Health PT website that's full of valuable information, and some of that information comes from Susan's own personal experience - she's just recently returned from maternity leave and shared her own surrogacy delivery story - she delivered at 27 weeks due to preeclampsia.
One of the last sentences in that story (I'm thinking spoilers are ok in this situation) is this: "Knowing the signs and listening to my body literally saved my life."
Thank you, Susan, for helping women in so many ways, including teaching them the signs and how to listen, too!
