It’s Where We All Belong
It's Where We All Belong
I have some seriously fond memories of the JCC.
We were members there when our kids were little and while we took advantage of as many of the benefits available to us as we could, we absolutely lived at that pool in the summers! Evenings were our favorite times, winding down our days by splashing around in the water and eating pizza poolside during breaks.
I, of course, had to bring apple slices and nag everyone in my family to eat some until they were gone in a semi-futile effort to balance out the pizza intake.
But our last year there was well over a decade ago, I'm sorry to say. Our kids lost interest in the pool (crazy, right?!), though we certainly didn't, so I've often regretted letting that time lapse. We really could have used some more of those evening wind-downs over the years.
Plus, I'd heard how much they'd expanded their fitness center and always wanted to check it out!
That's why I'm ridiculously excited to officially welcome the Shaw JCC as our newest member in The Loop. I've been clicking around on their website and I've seen the pictures of that fitness center and it really does look awesome!
And they still offer so many benefits, namely classes and programs (and even walking paths...) that members (and even non-members!) can enjoy.
There's way more than I could possibly point out here but I can't resist at least pointing out that they've recently offered summer camps from Challenge Island of Summit-Medina and a College Entrance Workshop with The Savvy Red Pen.
Obviously, those who coordinate such things have impeccable taste.
I also can't resist adding that I've been following them on Instagram for a little while now and have been particularly enjoying their Namaste at The J posts. I totally want to do yoga with adoptable puppies and kittens because... kittens and puppies!
And yoga. Because, of course, yoga.
If you haven't checked out the Shaw JCC before, or if you have but it's been a while, I encourage you to take this official welcome as a sign to do so now. Because whether you know it or not...
"You belong at The J!"
PS Are you a fellow Loop Member or Copley Chamber Member or maybe a Looper Community Subscriber who's thinking about joining "The J" (as the cool kids call it)?
