Celebrate at the Circle!
There's no denying it, the loss of Shisler's was a hit to the heart of Copley. In all my years of doing what I do, I've never seen such an outpouring of love and heartbreak for a local business.
So the question is, what are we gonna do about it?
We're going to celebrate at the Circle with the businesses we've got, that's what! After all, we've had FOUR new businesses open around the Circle in just the past SIX months or so: Firehouse Tavern, Absolute Fitness, Peak Auto Sales, and Brighten Brewing.
How amazing is that?
That's four new businesses that have chosen to invest in our community. Four new businesses that you might ask to sponsor a team or donate to a fundraiser someday. Four new businesses for us to love and support so that they can stick around at least as long as Shisler's did.
Copley Township has planned a very special event for this Saturday, Taste of Copley Circle, to give you the perfect opportunity to get to know these four new businesses.
They've even got some other fun up their sleeves with games of chess, checkers, and cornhole. There will be a DJ and exercise demos from Absolute Fitness before, after, and in between the live music from The Twanglers from 1:00 and 3:00. You'll even find some other area favorites like The Market Path and Cardinal Cakes and Coffee!
I'll be there, myself, ready and waiting to sell you a beer from Brighten or a t-shirt from The Loop, or to answer any questions about The Loop or the Chamber (perfect for anyone who can't make the Chamber meeting on Thursday).
I look forward to seeing you there!
Celebrate Maker Releases!
We have a couple of Maker Members who have been busy lately...
Congratulations to Christina Terhune (aka Chubby Worm Art) for her new book, Life In Multiplayer Mode! This book is the first collection of Christina's comics of the same name and allows you to "Follow along as two nerds attempt to raise two noobs and their canine familiars."
And another "congratulations" to Koi Botanicals for releasing two new products today, Floral Facial Wash and Basil Blue Cleansing Balm! If you haven't been following on the socials, find Koi on your favorite to learn more about how she gets that beautiful blue - it's pretty cool!
Celebrate Our Farmers!
The day may be winding down but it's never too late to celebrate our favorite farmers for today's National Farmer's Day!
We're lucky to live where there are so many farms to visit and three of my personal favorites are in The Loop:
- Carl Harp Nursery - Word around the webs is that the pumpkin patch is winding down so be sure to stop by the stand to get yours before it's gone! You might just find some late-season staples to snack on or to inspire the side dishes for your dinner.
- Jacobs Heritage Farm - You can visit the farmstand for grab-and-go goodies like gourds and eggs and honey and maybe even fudge... or you can plan ahead and visit the website for a list of available meats for your main course (or maybe a live edge slab to make the table to serve it on)!
- The Winery at Wolf Creek - A grape farm is a farm, my friends, and one that often makes the winding down of the day just that little bit more relaxing, be it due to the view or the glass in hand.
That, my friends, makes for a well-rounded meal full of local love. Support your favorite farmers every chance you get and celebrate National Farmer's Day every day!
