Celebrate Arbor Day Friday and Saturday
Of the many things to love about Copley Township (and in my possibly slightly biased opinion, there are indeed many things), knowing we're an official Tree City USA is pretty high up there on the list of favorites.
See, that designation is not just a random thing. There's not someone just driving around and walking into town halls and saying, "Hey, you guys seem to like trees. Have a plaque!"
Nope. You gotta earn it. Prove you're worthy. Make an effort to maintain and even improve your tree cover. Show and even celebrate your commitment to the environment. Generally make your community a greener, healthier place to live through your treatment of trees.
So this Friday is Arbor Day and you know what that means? That means it's time to celebrate!
Copley Township is giving away Lilac, Redbud, and Norway Spruce tree starts for you to plant at home. (Shoutout to Carl Harp Nursery!) You can pick yours up at town hall on Friday from 3:00 - 5:00, or head to Copley Community Park on Saturday from 11:00 - 2:00 for the full celebration with contests and tree plantings and all sorts of tree-themed goodness.
Be sure and say "hi" to Coni the Conifer and her new Grand-Seedling, Sunnie the Seedling, while you're there!
